What We Do

Here are some of our flagship programmes

Youth Empowerment Summit (YES)

Youth Empowerment Summit (YES), is a flagship project of YELF dedicated to fostering leadership, inspiration, and growth among young individuals.

Youth And Security Sensitization (YASS)

In light of recent developments involving rampant child-murder and kidnapping cases, and following a baseline survey conducted on the victims affected by this menace—primarily children and youth—YELF and the Ghana Police Service have partnered to institute a project aimed at addressing this alarming trend. The goal is to provide quality education on security to young people across various schools in Ghana. The Youth Awareness on Security and Safety (YASS) initiative offers young people a platform to learn firsthand tips on security, including the pranks, schemes, and methods commonly employed by kidnapping culprits. This knowledge equips our children to remain vigilant and cautious, thereby enhancing their safety and security. Since its inception until the onset of the Covid-19 restrictions in 2019, this project has benefited twelve (12) schools within the Tema-Ashaiman region.

End of Year Examination Retreat (ERS)

After the WASSCE, many SHS students are often highly convinced that the exam was well within their abilities and that they would pass with distinction. However, the results of the exam often fail to reflect such confidence. This has led us to believe that the answers provided by students often fall short of meeting the full requirements of the questions, thus preventing them from scoring the maximum marks allocated. It appears that a majority of students either under-answer or deviate from the questions because they do not fully understand or grasp what is expected of them when answering examination questions. YELF, having researched the causes of unexpected examination failures and seeking to contribute to improving the situation and supporting final year students sitting for the WASSCE, instituted the ERS in partnership with the Ghana Education Service. This initiative provides students with a free-to-attend but highly educational and insightful platform aimed at helping them learn the correct and effective methods of answering questions.

Career Guidance and Counselling (CGC)

We understand the importance of guiding young individuals towards fulfilling and successful careers. That's why we've instituted our Career Guidance and Counselling project, aimed at equipping youth with the tools, resources, and support they need to navigate the complex world of career choices. Through our project, we offer personalized counselling sessions to help young people explore their interests, skills, and aspirations. Our experienced career counsellors provide valuable insights, advice, and encouragement, empowering youth to make informed decisions about their future career paths. In addition to one-on-one counselling, we organize workshops, seminars, and networking events designed to expose youth to a wide range of career options and opportunities. From guest speakers sharing their career journeys to hands-on activities and industry insights, our events inspire and motivate young individuals to pursue their passions and goals. We also provide access to online resources, including career assessment tools, resume-building workshops, and job search assistance, to further support youth in their career development journey. At the core of our Career Guidance and Counselling project is the belief that every young person deserves the chance to discover their strengths, pursue their dreams, and achieve their full potential in the workforce. By offering guidance, mentorship, and practical support, we empower youth to chart their own path towards a successful and fulfilling career.
